Rosales is an order o flouerin plants.[3] It is sister tae a clade consistin o Fagales an Cucurbitales.[4] It contains aboot 7700 speshies, distributit intae aboot 260 genera. Rosales comprises nine faimilies, the type faimily bein the rose faimily, Rosaceae. The lairgest o these faimilies are Rosaceae (90/2500) an Urticaceae (54/2600). Rosales is divided intae three clades that hae never been assigned a taxonomic rank. The basal clade consists o the faimily Rosaceae; another clade consists o fower faimilies, includin Rhamnaceae; an the third clade consists o the fower urticalean faimilies.[5]
