Queanbeyan /ˈkwnbiən/ is a regional centre in the Southern Tablelands in sooth-eastren New Sooth Wales adjacent tae the Australie Caipital Territory. The ceety's mixed economy is based on licht construction, heich technology, manufacturin, service, retail an agricultur. It is the cooncil seat o the Queanbeyan City Council. At the 2011 census, Queanbeyan haed a population o 37,991.[1]

On 28 November 1837 the Colonial Secretar annooncit the appointment o Caiptain Allured Tasker Faunce as resident polis magistrate at Queanbeyan.
