According tae the 2002 census o the National Statistics Institute, Pichidegua spans an aurie o 320 km2 (124 sq mi) an haes 17,756 inhabitants (9,208 men an 8,548 weemen). o these, 4,965 (28%) lived in urban auries an 12,791 (72%) in landwart auries. The population grew bi 7% (1,162 persons) atween the 1992 an 2002 censuses.[1]

As a commune, Pichidegua is a third-level admeenistrative diveesion o Chile administered bi a municipal cooncil, headed bi an alcalde who is directly electit every fower year.

Athin the electoral divisions o Chile, Pichidegua is representit in the Chamber o Deputies bi Mrs. Alejandra Sepúlveda (PRI) an Mr. Javier Macaya (UDI) as pairt o the 34t electoral district, (thegither wi San Fernando, Chimbarongo, San Vicente, Peumo an Las Cabras). The commune is representit in the Senate bi Andrés Chadwick Piñera (UDI) an Juan Pablo Letelier Morel (PS) as pairt o the 9t senatorial constituency (O'Higgins Region).
