Otaku

Otaku (おたく/オタク) is a Japanese term for fowk wi obsessive interests, commonly the anime an manga fandom. Its contemporary uisage oreeginatit wi Akio Nakamori's 1983 essay in Manga Burikko.^[1]^[2] Otaku mey be uised as a pejorative; its negativity stems frae the stereotypical view o otaku an the media's reportin on Tsutomu Miyazaki, "The Otaku Murderer", in 1989.
