Nuclear Death wis formed on the 23 Mairch 1986, bi Laura Bravo (vocals, bass), Phil Hampton (guitar), an Joel Whitfield (drums). Thair first demo, Wake Me When I'm Dead (Scots: Wauken Me Whan I'm Deid), wis setten furth later that year, receivin positive reviews frae magazines in an furth o America. Thay wis notable as at the time no a lot o thrash metal airtists haed female sangsters. Thair seicont demo, Welcome to the Minds of the Morbid, follaed in 1987, an Nuclear Death signed a contract wi Richard Campos frae Wild Rags, a record label, fanzine an record dealer in Californie, ower the heid o't.

In 1991, the baund set furth thair mair controversial wark, caaed Carrion for Worm, an it haes a lot o sangs thocht tae be in bad taste, siclike as "The Human Seed", "Lurker in the Closet: A 'Fairy' Tale", an "Greenflies". Carrion for Worm featured vocals bi Chris Reifert, sangster frae kenspeckle daith metal baund Autopsy, on twa sangs, "Cathedral of Sleep" an "Vampirism".

On May 23, 1992, Nuclear Death played a notorious concert in Puerto Rico, wi label pairtners Impetigo. Later that year thay set furth For Our Dead (Scots: For Oor Deid), a fower-track single that haes a rerecordit version o 1987's "The Third Antichrist" frae Welcome to the Minds of the Morbid.

Efter the brakkin-up o Nuclear Death, Lori formed a new baund, Raped, in 2002. Joel Whitfield jyned Eroticide in 1991.
