Mayon Volcano, kent as Mount Mayon an aw, is an active volcano in the province o Albay, on the island o Luzon in the Philippines. Renained as the "perfect cone" acause o its almaist symmetric conical shape, Mayon forms the northren boundary o Legazpi Ceety, the lairgest ceety in terms o population in the Bicol Region. The muntain wis first declared as a naitional pairk an a pertectit laundscape on Julie 20, 1938 in the kintra. It wis reclassified an renamed as Mayon Volcano Naitural Park in the year 2000.[3]

Local folklore refers tae the volcano as Bulkang Mayon (Bikol: "Mayon volcano"), efter the legendary heroine Daragang Magayon (Bikol: "Beautiful Lady").[4]
