Baron Gaetano Ventimiglia gae the new hamlet the name o Lascari, in honor o his strynd frae the strain o Lascari's emperors o Constantinople. In 1840 Lascari became unthirld frae Gratteri an in 1890 the richt tae a territory wis grantit but anerly in 1924 the toun obtained it. The day the territory is aboot 10.4 square kilometre (4.0 sq mi) wi a population o 3,500. Lascari is locatit 50 kilometre (31 mi) east o Palermo, the caipital ceety o Sicily. Durin these last years a lot o detached or semi-detached hooses hae been biggit near the beaches, so in the simmer a lot o holiday-makers come here frae Palermo or ither touns in the centre o Sicily.
