La Colorada is a sma toun an municipality in the Mexican state o Sonora. In 2005, the population o the municipality wis 1,754, wi 288 livin in the municipal seat.[1] Umwhile kent as Minas Prietas, La Colorada became a municipality on 28 Juin 1934.[2] As an important minin camp in Mexico, La Colorada boastit a population that toppit 5,604 in 1895.[3] The municipality is situatit 45 km (29 mi) sootheast o Hermosillo.[4]
