It is locatit in the Finland Proper region an is a neebourin toun o Turku, which is the caipital o Finland Proper, therefore Kaarina is a pairt o the Greater Turku region. The municipality haes a population o 35,878 (28 Februar 2023)[2] an covers an aurie o 179.58 square kilometre (69.34 sq mi) o which 29.15 km2 (11.25 sq mi) is watter.[1] The population density is 238.65 inhabitants per square kilometre (618.1/sq mi). The municipality is unilingually Finnish.

The famous fetish airtist Tom of Finland wis born in Kaarina. The legendary foonders o funeral doom metal, the baund Thergothon wis formit here in 1989. Kaarina haes a weel kent fitbaa team Kaarinan Pojat.

The municipality o Kuusisto wis consolidatit wi Kaarina in 1946. The municipality o Piikkiö wis consolidatit wi Kaarina on 1 Januar 2009. At the same time, Kaarina adoptit the coat o airms o Piikkiö.
