She wis left in a creetical condeetion an subsequently died frae her injuries in hospital. A 52-year-auld suspect, Thomas Mair, wis arrestit.[4] He wis sentenced tae life in preeson on 23 November 2016.

On 20 October 2016, Tracy Brabin wis electit tae succeed Jo Cox as Member o Pairlament for Batley an Spen.
