Ivar Giaever
Ivar Giaever (Norse: Giæver, IPA: [ˈiːvɑr ˈjeːvər]; born Aprile 5, 1929) is a Norse-American pheesicist wha shared the Nobel Prize in Pheesics in 1973 wi Leo Esaki an Brian Josephson "for thair discoveries regairdin tunnellin phenomena in solits".[1] Giaever's share o the prize wis speceefically for his "experimental discoveries regairdin tunnelling phenomena in superconductors".[2] Giaever is an institute professor emeritus at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a professor-at-lairge at the Varsity o Oslo, an the preses o Applee'd Biopheesics.[3]

The Nobel Prize in Physics 1973 was divided, one half jointly to Leo Esaki and Ivar Giaever "for their experimental discoveries regarding tunneling phenomena in semiconductors and superconductors, respectively" and the other half to Brian David Josephson "for his theoretical predictions of the properties of a supercurrent through a tunnel barrier, in particular those phenomena which are generally known as the Josephson effects".
