Istmo de Tehuantepec
Istmo de Tehuantepec is the lairgest region in the state o Oaxaca, Mexico. It covers the soothren pairt o the Isthmus o Tehuantepec, the shortest route atween the Guwf o Mexico an the Paceefic Ocean afore the Panama Canal wis opened. The region haes twa destricts, Juchitán an Tehuantepec, wi a tot o 41 municipalities.[1]

The region contains the lairgest pairt o the Selva Zoque, or Zoque Forest, an aurie o great ecological importance includin the lairgest intact tropical rain forest in Mexico.[3]
