Ischia (Italian pronunciation: [ˈiskia]) is a volcanic island in the Tyrrhenian Sea. It lees at the northren end o the Guwf o Naples, aboot 30 km frae the ceety o Naples. It is the lairgest o the Phlegrean Islands. Roughly trapezoidal in shape, it measures aroond 10 km east tae wast an 7 km north tae sooth an haes about 34 kilometre (21 mi) o coastline an a surface aurie o 46.3 square kilometre (17.9 sq mi). It is amaist entirely muntainous, the heichest peak being Munt Epomeo at 788 m.[2] The island haes a population o ower 60,000 fowk.
