Boondaries o the destrict are naturally determined bi Rupnarayan River on wast an sooth-wast, an bi Bhagirathi-Hooghly river on east an sooth-east side. On north side, the boondar is an airtificial ane except for Bally Canal on north-east an Damodar River on north-wast.[3]
