Greater Reykjavík

Greater Reykjavík (Icelandic: Stór-Reykjavíkursvæðið or Höfuðborgarsvæðið, "the caipital region") is a name uised collectively for Reykjavík an seiven municipalities aroond it.[1][2]. The area is the lairgest urban area in Iceland.[3] Each municipality haes its independent electit cooncil. Wi a population o 200,852, the Greater Reykjavík Area comprises ower 60% o the population o Iceland in an area that is anerlie juist ower 1% o the total size o the kintra.[4] Municipal govrenments cooperate extensively in various fields; for example wi waste policy, shared public transport, a joint fire brigade an polis force. Unification o aw or some municipalities in the region are discussed in politics.
