Getaria, Gipuzkoa
Getaria is a coastal toun locatit in the province o Gipuzkoa, in the autonomous commonty o Basque Kintra, in the North o Spain.
Its maist famous sons are Juan Sebastián Elcano, caiptain o the Nao Victoria, Admiral Miguel de Oquendo, who commandit the Guipúzcoa Squadron o the Spaingie Armada, the splorer Domingo de Bonechea, an the couturier Cristóbal Balenciaga Eizaguirre.
In Mey 2012, a twa-man team frae Getaria wan Google's "Model Your Town" competeetion bi creatin a complete 3D representation o their hametoun.[1] The team wis rewairdit wi a US$25,000 contribution tae a local schuil an a pairty honorin the team an toun.
