Gaspard-Gustave de Coriolis

(Gaspard-)Gustave de Coriolis [ɡaspaʁ ɡystav də kɔʁjɔlis] (21 Mey 1792 – 19 September 1843) wis a French mathematician, mechanical ingineer an scientist. He is best kent for his wirk on the supplementary forces that are detectit in a rotatin frame o reference, leadin tae the Coriolis effect. He wis the first tae coin the term "wirk" for the transfer o energy bi a force actin throu a distance.[1]
