Daniel Campos province is ane o saxteen provinces in the Potosí Depairtment. It is locatit atween 19° 25' an 20° 50' Sooth an atween 66° 49' an 68° 47' Wast. It borders Oruro Depairtment in the north, the Republic o Chile in the wast, Nor Lípez Province in the sooth, an Antonio Quijarro Province in the east.

The province extends ower 240 km frae east tae wast an 180 km frae north tae sooth.

Geography

The province is situatit in the salt flats o soothren Altiplano, mair nor 65 % o the province bein covered bi Salar de Uyuni. Salar de Uyuni is situatit at an average level o 3,657 m amsl, the heichest pynt o the province is Alto Totoni (5,740 m) in Cordillera Sillaguay on the Chilean border. The climate is that o an arid heich muntain region, wi yearly precipitation o belaw 200 mm, even less nor 100 mm in the extreme wast. Average daily temperaturs are 0 tae 5 °C aw ower the year.

The main leid o the province is Spaingie, spoken bi 80%, while 59% o the population speak Aymara. The population increased frae 4,630 indwallers (1992 census) tae 5,067 (2001 census), an increase o 9.4%.

87% o the population hae nae access tae electricity, 91% hae nae sanitary facilities. 73% o the population are employed in agricultur, 3% in minin, 2% in industrie, 22% in general services. 87% o the population are Catholics, 8% Protestants.

The fowk are predominantly indigenous ceetizens o Aymara strynd.[1]
