Camenca is locatit alang the river Dniester. It is the northmaist sub-destrict o Transnistrie. Accordin tae the 2004 Census in Transnistrie, the population o the sub-destrict is 27,284 fowk, including 13,048 (47.82%) Moldovans (Romanies), 11,610 (42.55%) Ukrainians, 1,880 (6.89%) Roushies, 43 (0.16%) Gagauzians, 59 (0.22%) Bulgaries, 9 (0.03%) Romas, 10 (0.04%) Jews, 447 (1.64%) Poles, 85 (0.31%) Belaroushies, 26 (0.10%) Germans, 16 (0.06%) Armenies, an 51 (0.19%) ithers.
The sub-destrict is hame tae the Dniester Sanatorium, the auldest halth resort in Transnistrie. In 2001, election offeecials for the Transnitrie presidential election annooncit that sittin preses Igor Smirnov receivit 103.6 percent o the vote in this region.
