Azor
Azor (Hebrew: אָזוֹר) (also Azur) is a sma toun (local cooncil) in the Tel Aviv Destrict o Israel, on the auld Jaffa-Jerusalem road sootheast o Tel Aviv. Established in 1948, Azor wis grantit local cooncil status in 1951. It wis named for the auncient ceety o Azur (lit. michty, heroic), preserved in the name o the Arab veelage o Yazur.[2] In 2006, it haed a population o 10,200 an a jurisdiction o 2,415 dunams (~2.4 km²).[3]
