The 3. Liga, 3. Fußball-Liga in German, is the third diveesion o fitbaw in Germany. The league started with the beginnin o the 2008–09 season, when it replacit the Regionalliga as the third tier fitbaw league in Germany. In the German fitbaw league seestem, it is positioned atween the 2. Bundesliga an the semi-profeesional Regionalliga, which became the fowert diveesion an initially consistit o three groups o 18 clubs playin separately.[1] In Germany, the 3. Liga is the heichest diveesion that a fitbaw club's reserve team can play in.
