Zelzate is a municipality locatit in the Belgian province o East Flanders. The municipality anerlie comprises the toun o Zelzate proper. On Januar 1, 2006 Zelzate haed a total population o 12,176. The total aurie is 13.71 km² that gies a population density o 888 inhabitants per km².
