Scotland Forever! is an 1881 pentin bi Lady Butler depictin the stairt o the cavalry charge o the Royal Scots Greys who chargit alongside the Inglis hivy cavalry at the Battle o Waterloo in 1815 durin the Napoleonic wars. In actuality, it appears that the Scots Greys never stairtit the charge at a gallop, due tae the broken grund, an insteid advancit at a quick walk. The pentin is hoosed the nou at the Leeds Art Gallery, havin been ane o its airliest acquisitions, a gift frae Colonel Thomas Walter Harding (1843–1927).[1]
The pentin wis aa an inspiration for the depiction o the same charge in the film Waterloo.[citation needit]
