Rabies is a viral disease that causes acute inflammation o the brain in humans an ither wairm-bluidit ainimals.[1] Early seemptoms can include fever an tinglin at the steid o exposur.[1] These seemptoms are follaed bi ane or mair o the follaein symptoms: violent movements, uncontrolled excitement, fear o watter, an inability tae move pairts o the body, confusion, an loss o consciousness.[1] Ance seemptoms appear it nearly always results in daith.[1] The time period atween contractin the disease an the stairt o srrmptoms is uisually ane tae three month; however, this time period can vary frae less nor ane week tae mair nor ane year.[1] The time is dependent on the distance the virus must travel tae reach the central nervous seestem.[4]
