A pheesical law or scienteefic law, accordin tae the Oxford Inglis dictionar, (translatit tae Scots) "is a theoretical principle deduced frae particular facts, applicable tae a defined group or class o phenomena, an expressible bi the statement that a pairticular phenomenon always occurs if certain condeetions be present."[1]
