Peloponnese (region)
The Peloponnese region (Greek: Περιφέρεια Πελοποννήσου), is a region in soothern Greece. It borders the Wast Greece region tae the north an Attica tae the north-east. The region haes an aurie o aboot 15,490 km². It covers maist o the Peloponnese peninsulae, except for the northwastren subregions o Achaea an Elis which belang tae Wast Greece.

The region is based at Tripoli an is dividit intae five regional units (pre-Kallikratis prefectures), Arcadie, Argolis, Corinthia, Laconia an Messenia, which are further subdividit intae 26 municipalities. The lairgest ceety o the region is Kalamata.
The region's govrenor is, syne 1 Januar 2011, Petros Tatoulis, who wis electit in the November 2010 local admeenistration elections for the Panhellenic Socialist Muivement.
