Monte Chingolo wis foondit on 23 November 1815 bi Juan Manuel de Rosas. The dounset wis the steid o Las Higueritas, the first recordit abbatoir in Argentinae. The toun grew follaein the openin o a Ferrocarril Provincial de Buenos Aires station in 1927, an it became the steid o numerous abbatoirs an ither industrial establishments.[1]

The Battalion 601 Arsenal at Monte Chingolo wis besiegit on 23 Dizember 1975, bi the ERP, a Trotskyite terrorist group. The attack left ower 100 deid, an the ERP's defeat lairgely subdued the organisation.[2]
