Milena Kitić (Serbie Cyrillic: Милена Китић, Serbian pronunciation: [mǐlɛna kǐːtitɕ]) (born 1968 in Belgrade, Serbie, Yugoslavie) is a Serbie American operatic mezzo-soprano. She haed feenisht her heich schuil diploma at the Mokranjac Muisic Schuil in Belgrade. Her first professor wis Andjelka Obradovic.

Kitic began her profeesional career wi the Belgrade Opera at the National Theatre in Belgrade, debutin in 1989 as Olga in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin; she performit at this hoose for 8 years. Frae 1997 till 1999, Kitic performit at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany, an later toured throuoot Europe. In 1998, she made her American debut an performit at Carnegie Hall that year. In 2002, she debuted wi the Washington National Opera and the Los Angeles Opera. The follaein year, she performit wi Opera Pacific, includin a benefit performance wi tenor Plácido Domingo. In October 2005, she debuted wi the Metropolitan Opera in New York, starrin in Bizet's Carmen an as Amneris in Verdi's Aida, roles which she reprised for Opera Pacific.

Kitic teaches master clesses at Chapman University, the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music an the University of California, Irvine. Kitic is marriet tae entrepreneur an umwhile Yugoslav prime meenister Milan Panić. The couple haes hames in Newport Beach an Pasadena, Californie.

In Mairch 2007, Kitic annooncit her retirement frae opera tae raise her five-year-auld son.
