Loanheid
A wee toun in Midlothian, south-east Scotland
Loanheid is a wee toun in south-east Scotland, wi a population o seventy hunner (or there aboot). It's tae the south-and-east of Edinburgh, near tae Lasswade, Bonnyrigg, Birdiehouse, Straiton, Bilston – an a wee patch further afield, tae Dalkeith, tae Roslin and tae Penicuik. The toun wis foundit on coal, shale an paper-mills. The day, it's best kent for its Gala Day ("Children's Day" also cried).
