The toun lies 710 km sooth o Windhoek, 862 km North o Cape Toun an 110 km Wast o the Ariamsvlei border post. Karasburg is the ae relatively lairge toun sooth o Keetmanshoop in Namibie.

Karasburg's main industry is sheep farmin, but it is an' a' an important truck stap for transport vehicles streamin intae Namibie frae the Sooth African border. The toun supports several massive farms in the aurie. The toun an aa haes its awn airport Karasburg Airport: (IATA:KAS) which is uised mainly for licht aircraft or as an emergency landin strip for lairger planes. Karasburg haes the busiest train station in Soothren Namibie an is an aa the last significant stap afore Upington. Bondels Dam, biggit in 1959, lies 7 km wast o the toun.
