The mayor o the José Félix Ribas Municipality is Juan Carlos Sánchez, electit on 23 November 2008 wi 48% o the vote.[5] He replacit Rosa León Brabo shortly efter the elections. The municipality is dividit intae five pairishes; Capital José Félix Ribas, Castor Nieves Ríos, Las Guacamayas, Pao de Zárate, an Zuata.[2]
