James Howard (mathematician)

James P. Howard, II, is an American mathematician at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, whaur he works as a data scientist and statistician.

He studiet mathematics at the University o' Maryland, College Park, environmental science at the Johns Hopkins University, an' public policy at the University o' Baltimore. He earnt his doctrate in 2014 in public policy frae the University o' Maryland, Baltimore County. His researsh focused on the economic costs o' the National Flood Insurance Program.

Howard joined the Board of Appeals for Howard County in 2011,[4] whaur he has taken pairt in several controversial land use decisions.[5][6][7][8] In addition, Howard has been a member o' the Maryland Defense Force since 2006, whaur he has served as information management chief.[9] He also served as a member o' the Howard County Charter Review Commission in 2019, recommendin' changes tae make redistrictin' independent and insulate decisions frae political influence.[10] Howard ran for the Maryland House of Delegates in 2018[11] and ran for delegate tae the 2020 Democratic National Convention pledged tae Elizabeth Warren.[12]
