Istanbul Airport (IATA: IST, ICAO: LTFM) (Turkis: İstanbul Havalimanı)[3] is the main internaitional airport servin Istanbul, Turkey. It is locatit in the Arnavutköy destrict on the European side o the ceety.

Aw scheduled commercial passenger flichts wur transferred frae Istanbul Atatürk Airport tae Istanbul Airport on 6 Apryle 2019, follaein the closur o Istanbul Atatürk Airport for scheduled passenger flichts.[4] The IATA airport code IST wis transferred tae the new airport an aw.[5] Ance aw phases completit in 2028, it will accommodate 200 million passengers a year.[6]

The opening date has been pushed back three times, but authorities insist that the main terminal building and two runways will be fully operational by Sunday, in what critics say it is a rushed and dangerous attempt to stay on schedule.
