Heisei period

Heisei (平成) is era in Japan. The Heisei era stairtit on 8 Januar 1989 until 30 April 2019, the first day efter the daith o the reignin Emperor, Hirohito. His son, Akihito, succeedit tae the throne. In accordance wi Japanese customs, Hirohito wis posthumously renamed "Emperor Shōwa" on 31 Januar.
