El Niño (Spaingie pronunciation: [el ˈniɲo]) is the wairm phase o the El Niño Soothren Oscillation (commonly cried ENSO) an is associatit wi a baund o wairm ocean watter that develops in the central an east-central equatorial Paceefic (atween approximately the Internaitional Date Line an 120°W), includin off the Paceefic coast o Sooth Americae.

The 1997–98 El Niño observed bi TOPEX/Poseidon. The white auries indicate the puil o wairm watter off the Tropical Wastren coasts o northren Sooth an aw Central Americae as well as alang the Central-eastren equatorial an Sootheastren Paceefic Ocean.[1]
