Deltuva
Deltuva is a smaw toun in Ukmergė Destrict Municipality, Vilnius Coonty, Lithuanie. It is locatit 6 km north-wast o Ukmergė, near the road tae Kėdainiai. It haes about 500 inhabitants.
In the 12–13t centuries Deltuva wis a centre o a tribal duchy, which embracit the modren land o Deltuva, Ukmergė, Kavarskas, Anykščiai, Kurkliai, Utena, Molėtai, Dubingiai, Giedraičiai, Videniškės, Balninkai an Šešuoliai. The Duchy o Deltuva wis first mentioned in 1219 in Lithuanie's treaty wi Halych-Volhynie. Teutonic Knichts mention Land o Deltuva (Dewilto[w]) in description o roads o Lithuanie in 1385. In 1444 a Catholic kirk wis biggit in Deltuva.
In the 15t century Deltuva belangit tae Valimantaičiai faimily, later – tae their successors Kęsgailos an frae 16t century – tae Radvilos. Marcjan Aleksander Ogiński acquired the toun in 1681. In 1752 the Holy Trinity Kirk wis biggit.
In the 19t century Tyszkiewicz faimily wur the awners o Deltuva. In 1867 Deltuva wis renamit tae "Konstantinovo" efter Konstantin Petrovich Von Kaufman, tsarist offeecial an Govrenor o Vilna. The auld name "Deltuva" wis returned tae the ceety in 1914.
