The Daft days is the period aboot Yuil an Hogmanay,[1] maist speceefically fae Yuil throu tae the first Monanday o the New Year.[2] It can forby refer tae ony time o dafferie or freevolitie or tae a body's bairnheid.[1] The word comes fae the French 'les fêtes de fous' (litteral like, it means the 'the hailidays o the daft').[3]
