The pailace wis built at the end o the 17t century an wis expanded during the 18t century. It includes much lavish internal decoration in baroque an rococo styles. A large formal gairden surroundit bi woodlan wis added behind the pailace, including a belvedere, a mausoleum, a theatre an a pavilion. During the Seicont Warld War, the pailace was badly damaged but has since been reconstructed. The pailace with its gairdens are a major tourist attraction.
