eedit

Charleston haes ane offeecial sister ceety, Spoleto, Umbrie, Italy.[6]

Charleston is twinned wi Speightstown, St. Peter, Barbados an aw.[7] The original parts of Charlestown were based on the plans of Barbados's capital city Bridgetown.[8] Many indigo, tobacco, and cotton planters relocated their slaves and plantation operations from Speightstown to Charleston after the sugarcane industry came to dominate agricultural production in Barbados.[9]
