Bukan (Persie: بوكان; Kurdish:بۆکان; Romanisit as Būkān, Bokan, an Bowkān an aw)[1] is a ceety in an the caipital o Bukan Coonty, Wast Azerbaijan Province, Iran. Bukan is locatit sooth o Loch Urmia aboot 1,300 metres abuin sea level. It lees in the Wast Azerbaijan Province o Iran. The toun is situatit on the eastren bank o the Sīmīnarūd (Tk. Tatahūčāy), kent locally as Čōmī Bōkān, on the road atween Saqqez an Miandoab.
