Antonin Nompar de Caumont, Duke o Lauzun (1632 – November 19 1723) wis a French nobleman an a soldier. He is best kent as the secret husband o Anne Marie Louise d'Orléans, Duchess o Montpensier, "La Grande Mademoiselle" (the first cousin o Keeng Louis XIV. He an aa help King Louis organise meetins wi his future mistress Madame de Montespan. He wis creatit a Duke in 1692[1]. He is eften simply referred tae simply as Lauzun. His grandfaither wis the Maréchal de La Force.

Mademoiselle died in 1693, an twa years later on 21 Mey 1695, Lauzun mairit Geneviève Marie de Durfort,"Mademoiselle de Quintin" a bairn o fourteen, dochter o the Marshal-Duke o Lorges[2]. Queen Mary, throu whose interest Lauzun secured his dukedom, retained her faith in him, an it wis he who in 1715, mair nor a quarter o a century efter the flight frae Whitehall, brocht her the news o the Battle o Sheriffmuir. Efter his daith, the dukedom o Lauzun wis inherited bi his niece's husband, Charles Armand de Gontaut.
