It is situatit at the extreme north o the province whaur the road frae Kilis Province intersect the main heich-gate runnin frae north tae sooth. It is 7 kilometre (4.3 mi) frae Hassa. The population o the toun is 8957[1] as of 2011.
History
eeditAkbez tounship wis established in 1972 bi mergin twa veelages namit Salmanuşağı an Nuhuşağı. Durin the early years o Turkis Republic these veelages wur in the Province o Cebeli Bereket. Efter this province wis abolished in 1933, the veelages wur made a pairt o Gaziantep Province. But efter Hatay Republic wis mergit tae Turkey in 1939, the veelages as well as the rest o Hassa wur made a pairt o Hatay Province.
Economy
eeditThe main agricultural products are grapes, cotton, soybean an olive. There are twa olive ile press facilities in the toun.
