The 2009–10 Premier League (kent as the Barclays Premier League for sponsorship reasons) wis the 18t season o the Premier League since its estaiblishment in 1992. A total o 20 teams competed in the league, wi Chelsea unseating the three-time defending champions Manchester United, scoring a Premier League ricord 103 goals in the process.[1][2] The season began on 15 August 2009 an concluded on 9 May 2010.[3] Prior tae each opening week match, a minute's applause wis held in memory o Sir Bobby Robson. Nike provided a new match baw – the T90 Ascente – for this season.
