A torii (鳥居, leeterally bird abode) is a tradeetional Japanese gate maist commonly foond at the entrance o or within a Shinto shrine, whaur it seembolically merks the transeetion frae the profane tae the saucrit (see saucrit-profane dichotomy).[1]
