She first met Hendrik, alongside his brither Alexander on the island o Madeira in 1847. She mairit Prince Hendrik in Weimar on 19 Mey 1853. They divided their time atween Walferdange Castle in Luxembourg, where Hendrik wis stadhouder, an the Soestdijk Pailace during the summer. Thay haed nae issue.
