Naypyidaw Union Territory is unner the direct admeenistration o the President. Day-tae-day functions are carried oot on the President's behalf bi the Naypyidaw Council led by a Chairperson. The Chairperson an members o the Naypyidaw Council are appyntit bi the President an include baith civilians an Armed Forces representatives.[4]

On 30 Mairch 2011, President Thein Sein appyntit Thein Nyunt as chairman o the Naypyidaw Council, alang wi 9 chair members: Than Htay, Colonel Myint Aung Than, Kan Chun, Paing Soe, Saw Hla, Myint Swe, Myint Shwe an Myo Nyunt.[5]
