The Black Isle Show,[1] ane o the lairgest agricultural shows in Scotland, is held every August in a showground near Muir o Ord. The showground is a popular exhibition site thanks tae the surroondin flouer fields.
The veelage is served bi Muir o Ord railwey station, opened in 1869, on the Kyle of Lochalsh line.
The Glen Ord Distillery is ane o the few remainin whisky distilleries on the Black Isle.[2]
