Messier object

The Messier objects are a set o astronomical objects first leetit bi French astronomer Charles Messier in 1771.[1] Messier wis a comet hunter, an wis frustratit bi objects which resembled but wur nae comets, so he compiled a leet o them,[2] in collaboration wi his assistant Pierre Méchain, tae avoid wastin time on them.
A similar leet had been published in 1654 bi Giovanni Hodierna, but haed no impact an wis probably nae kent tae Messier.[3]
