Meroë (an aa spelled Meroe;[1][2] Meroitic: Medewi or Bedewi; Arabic: مرواه Meruwah an مروى Meruwi; Auncient Greek: Μερόη, Meróē) is an auncient ceety on the east bank o the Nile aboot 6 km north-east o the Kabushiya station near Shendi, Sudan, approximately 200 km north-east o Khartoum.
