Mary Magdalene (Ebreu: מרים המגדלית‎‎, oreeginal Biblical Greek: Μαρία ἡ Μαγδαληνή),[2] leeterally translatit as Mary the Magdalene or Mary o Magdala, is a figur in Christianity wha traveled wi Jesus as ane o his follaers. She is said tae hae witnessed Jesus' crucifixion an resurrection.[3] Within the fower Gospels she is named at least 12 times,[4] mair nor maist o the apostles. Based off texts o the early Christian era in the third century, it seems that her status as an “apostle" rivals even Peter's.[5]
